"I design, create and teach contemporary fine silver jewellery using precious metal clay (PMC). PMC allows me to create individual and 3-dimensional pieces; for 2011 I am exploring the possibilities of sculptural construction. I beleive that my jewellery is unique, tactile and a pleasure to wear; the organic and textual designs are influenced by the properties and adaptability of the clay and I take much of my artistic inspiration from the marine surroundings of my hometown of Leigh-on-Sea." - Jan Simon
